Peace and Love

Well not really but really, if you like the freedom of runnign and jumping thorugh an urban wilderness, listening to your personal hip hop playlist, spinning a few front flips and  perhaps falling to your death from  a five box high freighter.

Having being introduced to free running or “parkour” a number of years ago, but not “actually having participated in it myself,” I found this game by chance: turns out its not so easy to get hold of or something, but was pretty pleased when it turned up in Gamestation.

Admittedly the front cover showing a man sporting a fetching blue Adidas tracksuit is one of it lesser selling points, the inner game design is something else.

Visually it’s particularly appealing. As long as you don’t run into a wall, your movements are pretty smooth flowing. It takes a while to master the moves and movements, but it’s well worth spending the time to do on the three in depth tutorials. Once this is done, the “world’s your oyster.”

More tracks, clothes, moves and areas are unlocked as the game progresses, with each level having a number of challenges to complete in order to move on. But breaking from the traditional “finish one level move onto the next,” you could let’s say finish one level and this subsequently opens another challenge three levels back.

The variety of gameplay has kept me gripped until this point, where yes, I am stuck.(Not for long don’t you worry: it’s only been three months so far.”

The game’s downsides would be it’s challenge: not necessarily a downside, but doesnt make the game available to all PSP players. Some level of awareness is required, but could make for some interesting death sequences…Controls are an “art”, sort of, but once mastered, is like riding a bike.

All of this is made up for wholly in sheer atmosphere and fun. I mean, you knwo you always wanted to scale that five box high freighter and jump across to that precarious looking pole hanging over the edge of the sea…

Not for the faint hearted.

Talking about personal updates:

When you’re in a public place and the Nokia ring tone tune goes off.”

1.There is an unspoken rule in the kitchen that if someone uses your stuff, they won’t wash it up. In fact, nothing will get washed up: it will fester and rot in the sink until finally you crack and do it yourself.

2. First impressions are always wrong.

3.Their food will always look better than yours.

4.There will always be someone who knocks on your door three, possibly four times a day and then runs away, thus distracting you from your work, and rendering your day more or less unproductive. After the first week or two, it’s best to just stop answering your door.

5.When you inevitably end up living with someone you have… “differences” with, they will doublessly be too immature to deal with you and your superiour intellect. When this happens, it’s best to move somewhere else.

6. The people you end up living with could be the nicest sweetest, most socialble people in the world, but you’ll still get  annoyed with them from time to time.

8. It’ll get lonely.

9.You will end up spending 60% of your time procrastinating with these people so it’s best to get to know them early on. The remaining 40% or your time will be split 35%/5% between sleeping and actually doing productive work.

10.In a living relationship, balance is key. If they’re in a bad mood you counter this with an incredibly bright and breezy mood which will serve to confuse and possibly annoy them further.

They steal you stuff, you give them a chocolate bar, delivered with a smile, which will again confuse them and leave them feeling a little guilty.

I like to call it the “turn the other cheek” approach.

Hey there, it’s 10.49 on Wednesday morning and I’m meant to be finishing my essay. This is the second in a new series called “Things they don’t tell you about…” Which will explore all the interesting new aspects of my life away from home. With all the work I’ve suddenly got piled on, there’s less time for such “fun and games” and I had before, so you’ll have to bear with me here! Peace and Love x

1. With the best will in the world, there will be someone you don’t get along with, be it boy girl, lecturer,or animal. The world just got a whole lot bigger than it was back home and there are bound to be some conflicting ideas!

2. Sleep must be sacrificed in order to get things done. You think you have enough hours in the day to socialise, organsise and work, but the simple truth is you don’t. A three to 5 hour average is about normal.

3.Give up a hobby. Give up two. Don’t buy a sports union membership, you won’t use it. You can be as motivated as you like, you left all hope at the campus entrance. There is just not tiiime! And when there is time, you’re too tired to do anything.

4. You will put on weight. Fatty food is cheap food and students are notoriously cheap.

5.Never cross the fat girl. (No offence to overweight members of society, I just talk from experience…)

6.Your moeny will deplete about week two and you’ll be into your overdraft by week four. Stop buying late night vending machine snacks and just because things are on sale with a discount on top does not mean you have to buy them”

7.All your fears and doubts and anxieties will come true.

8.They weren’t making it up when they said you’ll find it tough.

9. Cooking sucks. It sounds fun and original but by week three, you’ll be skint and will be living from packets.

10.There’s no such thing as “Freshers Week”…it’s pretty much “Fresher’s year.”

Give me a while m’lovlies (nobody reads these things anyways do they, which makes me seem pretty sad and lonely talking to the internet?…) I’ll get it sorted soon.

Zomg exciting!

Okay, so the 24/7 eyeliners are so awesome, so smooth and the colours are so vibrant. This pack also comes in a black, so although expensive, it’s well worth it as it’s good set if you’re just starting up or are building up on your collection.

The glitter eyeliners are pretty awesome for glamming up any eyes. You can build it up in layers for a bolder look or just add a little sparkle. I thik they’re awesome.

Urban Decay is pricey, but remember quality over quantity! I’ve made the mistake in the past of spening lots on lots of make-up I won’t use. It’s better to splash out on “investments!”

Oh my gosh it’s getting late.

Okay, basically, You have to hit the circles as the appear on screen, use the stylus to follow them and such. It’s a very unique idea and the game design is superb: it runs very smoothly, with amusing plot lines, and fantastic choice of music.

What I don’t get is why this, and so many toehr good games are totally under rated?! I got this for £5 in Gamestation on an offer, when it’s totally wrth much more.

At first there are two levels, easy which is quite frankly bordering on ridiculous(there’s a big arrow to show you where to point the stylus) and medium. Then you get the “hard” mode and as soon as you’re done sweating your way through than, you reach ridiculously hard, which I have yet to complete.  But you knwo it’s a good game when you play through all three difficulty levels and are still not tired of tha game.

There we go. You really need to experience it to understand it, but yes, go play it!

One of these days, I’d like to play a game I’m on the fence about. It seems these days I either love em or hate em…

Before we can get into the packaging, the actual product is pretty good too. The domes of powder actually very smooth, anf fine with a faint scent which worryingly reminds me of playing with My Little Ponies when I was younger. We’ll look past that for now. (I think it’s like a daisy scent? I had a daisy scented pony once…) So in the quad I got there’s a like pinka dn blue and a light and dark gray. I like and have used all of these colours and they have a mottles effect which means you’re never sure exactly what’s going to come off on your brush.

A word of warning, in the shop alot of them had cracked as they are dome shaped and raise above theplastic, whcih means they are probably quite fragile.

Anyway, the applicator is like a foamy sponge, if that makes sense, without the large holes. It’s much softer.

You knwo what I;m not even going to talk about the packaging, you knwo what I’m going to say, just look at the picture!

Hope this review was useful, I always think it’s fun to try new products from time to time, and break away from the status quo.

So I have very fair hair on my face, so I don’t usually do much with my eyebrows, but this kit is really great and easy to use and just gives that little bit of extra definition to my eye brows.

The packaging, as with all Benefit products is very impressive, very sleek and cute, the sort of thing you oculd easily slip into your handbag. It comes with a little instruction sheet letting you know what to do, which you know, is handy.

If your eyebrows are very fair like  mine, just beware not to over do the powder: it looks quite pale, so you pack it on, but it actually comes out quite dark. That’s pretty much all there is to say, it’s pretty self explanatory. I really like it and would reccommend it to anyone, someone who’se plucked their brows into oblivion, and someone who’s growing a small garden on their face. Give it a go!
